Hailed as “a leader in contemporary opera and classical music in America (Opera News),” the Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP) and Odyssey Opera present “Mono e Mono (e Mono),” a dynamic concert of monodramas scored by some of the nation’s most influential American composers. The performance will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 8pm, at NEC’s Jordan Hall, featuring the acclaimed BMOP and Odyssey Opera, as well as powerful solo performances by sopranos Julia Mintzer and Sarah Coburn and one of the world’s most sought-after baritones Michael Chioldi, all led under the direction of Grammy Award-winning conductor Gil Rose.

Music Monday 3: In Memoriam with Monica Jakuc Leverett, piano

Location: Sweeney Concert Hall, Smith College
Monica Jakuc Leverett, Elsie Irwin Sweeney Emerita Professor of Music, will honor her three composer friends who passed in 2023 with a concert of works for solo piano. Perera’s Out of Shadow, a celebratory piece written for Jakuc’s London debut recital in 1988, is followed by Tann’s Light from the Cliffs, a lyrical ode to the landscape of her native Wales. Two Spratlan pieces, Speck Pond Rag, and Pelham Lake Rag will end the program. Free and open to the public.
